How To Work Hard And Play Hard

When you’re working, it is the thing that will take over most of your life. It is the thing that you will do each day for many years, and often, you can see colleagues more than you see members of your family. And while being out and working is all well and good, there is a lot that can be said of people making sure that they are able to enjoy their time off work; work hard, play hard, right? If you are spending 50 to 60 hours each week working, then spending a much smaller amount of time relaxing and getting refreshed, is really important. Working too hard or too much, without a break, can lead to burnout and stress if you let it. So being able to take some time for yourself so that you can recharge and have fun, can help you to work better, and just do life better. Here are some ideas to help.

Avoid Distractions

When it comes to the work hard mentality, then you need to make sure that you are working hard when you are at work. When you’re a vital part of the team it can lead to promotions, pay rises, and just a more enjoyable experience. If you are just scraping by and dread going into work, then it is not a way to live. So when you are at work, look to cut out the distractions. Switch your phone off or put into airplane mode. Think about scheduling your time, and working in quieter areas if chatting to people can be a distraction. When you are less distracted, you can be more productive and storm through your to-do list.

Take Care of Health

Taking care of your health is another thing that is really important to do. Working hard can be good, bringing feelings of happiness and achievement. But at the same time, you can have feelings of being stressed out and even experiencing things like panic attacks. These kinds of behavior can perhaps lead to bad habits, including things like reaching to alcohol to help you cope. These kinds of behaviors will only lead to alcohol rehab, and not to a place where you are really able to play hard. So watch your health, as well as your habits. Exercise, drink plenty of water, and get help if you need it.

Create a Bucket List

If you want to make sure that you can really enjoy your time off, and really ‘play hard’ then having a list of things that you want to do, like a bucket list of ‘30 before 30’ kind of thing can be a great idea. Then, when you have your time off, whether it is weekends or booked vacation time off work, you can think of what you want to tick off your list. It can feel really satisfying to tick things off a list, especially if they are things that you will have been wanting to do for quite a number of years.
