June, July & August Film Releases

Hey lovelies, so today I'm sharing with you all the film releases I've seen since the summer started and my thoughts on them. I'm not going to lie there have been a lot that have flopped for me, I'll also be sharing the releases I'm looking forward to.

Despicable Me 3

This was the first cinema release the I saw this summer and honestly it was amazing. I'm a firm believer that Despicable Me 2 was better than the first film - and the third instalment was just so funny too. The plot line wasn't the best but it was hilarious and definitely great for character development.  If you loved the other films this is must see, if you fancy a good laugh then this a must see. If you don't like animated films it's probably not for you.

Rating ★★★★1/2

The Beguiled

This remake was one that has been on my list of films to watch out for all year, I'm a big fan of Elle Fanning. The issue is with this film, it that the original is really good. This films builds up suspense but it goes nowhere, you get so much character development but there's no real plot and nothing really happens. It was a good watch but I won't be rushing to watch it again anytime soon.

Rating ★★

Spiderman Homecoming

Now I have to say I've never liked a single spiderman film before this one. I've found them all really boring and honestly I could fall asleep during them but I loved this spiderman in Captain America. This film took a really different approach to Peter Parker and it was amazing, he was funny carefree and there was great amount of character development. My only issue with the film was that the plot line  seemed to go on forever but it was still very interesting. I've since the film five times and loved it every single time.

47 Metres Down

Now this wasn't on my list of films to see this summer, because I hate sea water and sharks are a big no for me but after some convincing from nan we went to see the film. It was a massive disappointment from the beginning. One character is given the saddest back story and she didn't deserve the ending she got. There's a lot of suspense that goes nowhere, the storyline is crap and it doesn't go anywhere and the ending is a let down.

Rating ★★

I'm not a fan of war films, I never have been and I probably won't ever be but that aside this was a brilliant piece of cinematography. The plot line was a mess in my opinion but that really follows the subject matter of the film. I enjoyed it but I won't watch it again, I was yawning a little by the end of the film.

Rating ★★★

The Emoji Movie

Now there was honestly nothing else on at the cinema bar children's films so I decided to see the emoji movie. Honestly the reviews are all 100% accurate this was a waste of time. I don't even have the words to explain how awful this was haha.

Rating ★

Valerian and The City Of A Thousand Planets

The only reason I wanted to see this film is because of Cara - I love her modelling but I really love her acting. The film was over-hyped for what it was, it had some amazing CGI and animation but the acting wasn't the best and the storyline wasn't amazing. It was an okay watch, I wasn't bored but it wasn't what I expected whatsoever.

Rating ★★

The Big Sick

I saw this with nan simply because it's the genre of film that she loves most. It was amazing. The plot was funny, although really sad. The character development was amazing but it also touched on some really important racial themes that I'd never ever considered before. I left the film really educated and happy. I'd recommend this to everyone.

Rating ★★★★★

Annabelle: Creation

This was the last film I went to see and I had really mixed emotions. The film has some just unbelievable plot lines, but once it gets started it's amazing and has some amazing jump scares and is creepy enough to keep your questions at bay. I just think if the premise of the film was more believable this would have been 100% times better, is it worth watching? If you like horror and don't want to see an animated kids film, then yes, if there is something you'd rather see - watch that.

Rating ★★

I'm seeing few more films in the upcoming weeks (Atomic Blonde, Girls Trip, Rough Night and Detroit) so I might pop a small review up but I'll be doing a review for September, October and November because there are some amazing films coming out including Thor, Justice League, The Orient Express, IT, Happy Death Day, Flatliners and so many more!
